PILLARS OF RELIGION ISLAM

There are “five fundamental pillars of religion Islam”, these are religious duties on every Muslim that provide a complete framework for a Muslim’s life. All pillars are obligatory to perform on every able Muslim and these duties are performed to worship ALLAH Almighty, to personal spiritual growth, self-discipline, to care for the poor, self control and sacrifice. 

In Arabic term, “arkan” (pillars) provide a complete structure and hold something steadily in place. Islamic teachings about the basic Five Pillars of religion Islam are found in the Holy Quran and in the Hadith. Following we are going to discuss all the articles of Faith.

Shahadat

The most necessary and initial act of worship that every Muslim have to perform is a confirmation or declaration of faith, known as the Shahadah. The literal meaning of word Shahadah is “to bear witness,” so by professing and proclaiming faith; a person is bearing witness to the truth of the message of religion Islam its most fundamental teachings.

The Shahadah is repeatedly said by Muslims several times on daily basis, both in daily activity and in daily prayer, and this is also most commonly written phrase in Arabic calligraphy. Non Muslims who want to convert to religion Islam do so by just proclaiming the Shahadah preferably it should be proclaim in front of two witnesses. There is not any other requirement or prerequisite ceremony for entering in to the religion Islam.

Namaz

Daily Namaz is a touchstone in the lie of Muslim. In religion Islam, Namaz is performed for ALLAH Almighty alone, Muslims take time out from their routine five times every day to direct their hearts to worship ALLAH Almighty. The movements of Namaz include – standing, bowing, sitting, and Sajda or prostrating.

Roza

Muslims fasts in the month of Holy Ramadan and it is obligatory to perform on all able Muslims. In religion Islam, fasting helps us to realise and feel the pain of those who are less fortunate, helps Muslims to re-prioritize lives, and brings us closer to ALLAH Almighty and also strengthened our faith.

All adult Muslims having sound body and mind must observe fast during the Holy month of Ramadan every year. The fast in Islam lasts from dawn to sunset daily, during which a person is prohibited to eat or drink anything, he or she also have to avoid negative thinking acts etc. Muslims also spend their most of time in additional worship, refrain from lewd talk and gossip, and do charity.

Zakaat

Zakaat is an obligatory charity that every financially able Muslim has to pay to poor and needy according to the teachings of Islam.

Hajj

The Hajj is also an obligatory pilgrimage perform in the month of Zil-Hajj month every year.
